My husband will tell you I am the least patient person he has ever met. I can’t tell you how many times I have found myself in trouble because I could not wait in many aspects of my life including relationships, finances, and professional life. I have taken short cuts only to be two steps back when it is all over.
“Short cuts make for long delays”
– Pippin, The Fellowship of the Ring
If anyone should know about long delays, it is Pippin and Frodo! I am currently halfway through my master’s program to be certified to teach 6-12 English Language Arts. I have applied for student teaching starting in the fall and I have passed all my certification exams, but I am now in an interesting waiting game. Because of the way my program is set up, I could potentially get hired for the 2015-2016 school year as a teacher rather than doing my student teaching, but there is a catch. Since I am still in my program, schools have to make the claim they could not find a fully certified applicant before they hire me; it could be the week of planning or the first week of school before I could be hired! Talk about throwing a wrench in my obsession with planning every aspect of my life.
